We’re Expecting Company…

So, Let’s Help Clean up Albuquerque

Company's Comin' is a popular fall community service opportunity for everyone. Scouts from the Great Southwest Council are asked to pitch in and help with this community service project.

Albuquerque is known internationally for our annual Balloon Fiesta. During this world-renowned event, more than 700,000 visitors converge on our great city. Every year for The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, Keep Albuquerque Beautiful and the City of Albuquerque partners with the community, neighborhood associations and organizations like the Great Southwest Council Boy Scouts of America to prepare for our company.

On Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, we will meet at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Museum (9201 Balloon Museum Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113) to help clean up the Balloon Fiesta Park and surrounding area. The City of Albuquerque will provide gloves and trash bags.  Once you arrive, look for the check in tables south of the Museum near the baseball fields.  All units (Packs, Troops, and Crews) will be assigned an area for cleanup.  All units will be kept together, so make sure you check in as a group.  Units will be assigned an area and if needed, the city will have shuttle buses to get you to and from the cleanup areas.

For more information or if your unit is interested in helping with this GREAT community service project, please contact Bryan Nigg at 505-270-7411 or or contact Randy Saunders at the Council office at 505-345-8603.
