Which Program is Right For Me?

A wide variety of programs exist for boys and girls:

 

Age/Gender

Program Options

Grade Kindergarten to Age 10 Boys & Girls

Cub Scouting

A family and home-centered program for young boys and girls in Kindergarten through fifth grade. Cub Scouting's emphasis is quality programming at the local level.

  • Lion Cubs is the Kindergarten level program. This program is an introductory first step to Scouting for both children and their adult mentors. 
  • Tiger Cubs is a year long program for boys and girls entering first-grade and their adult mentors. The program stresses shared leadership, learning about the community, and family understanding and begins to teach Scouting Values and Traditions. 
  • Boys in the Second and Third grade are Wolf and Bear Scouts, respectively. 
  • Fourth and fifth-grade boys are called Webelos (We'll Be Loyal Scouts) and participate in more advanced activities that begin to prepare them to become Boy Scouts.

Boy Scouting

A program for children 11 through 17 designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster.

Age 14-20 Boys and Girls  

Venturing

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and have completed the eighth grade and under 21 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. 

Sea Scouting

One of many venturing programs, Sea Scouting is a co-educational program offered to young adults between the ages of 14 and 21. Sea Scouting is designed to promote better citizenship and to improve boating skills and knowledge. Through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage. Sea Scouting is adventure and challenge on sea and land.

Exploring

Exploring is a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 14-20. Our program provides an ideal link between academic environment and the real world.
