ScOutreach Counties
by Great Southwest Council

Bernalillo County

Bernalillo serves the largest number of youth of all of our counties. Our youth are dynamic and diverse. Being in Albuquerque allows for many exciting possibilities with many partnerships. We have connections with La Plazita, the Storehouse, the African American Tutoring Association, Roadrunner Food Bank, Christian Fellowship Church, among many others. Most recently, we have recruited three new mentors to join our program as well as a student leader, which reflects the abundance of resources and possibilities we have been able to make available for our youth here.

Valencia County

The ScOutreach Juvenile Diversion Program in Valencia County reflects the population it serves. The young men and women in Valencia are excited to be a part of our program. They have an opportunity to make connections with other young people and learn about opportunities in their community. We talk about concerns they have regarding school, family, and friends. We make partnerships in Belen, Tome, Los Lunas and other towns. The participants learn from and give back to these communities. Some of our current partnerships include: Tome Gallery and Community Garden, T-N-T Boxing, YDI Valencia, Los Lunas Fire Department, Belen Community Garden, and Belen Food Pantry. The ScOutreach Juvenile Diversion Program is continually expanding our community partnerships and strives to keep our participants’ interests and education in mind. Please contact Program Specialist Liza Bley with more information on ScOutreach Valencia County or for information on how you can get involved!
